Greetings!
I write this on the day of the winter solstice 2017, the longest night of the year. It is a time of quiet reflection, meditation and introspection. If you observe nature you will see that plants and animals have slowed down and gone into hibernation.
Many of us are going in the opposite direction and this time of the year is incredibly busy with holiday preparations, visiting friends and family and tying up loose ends at work. If you ask most people they will say it is the busiest time of the year.
If you can, take some time today to honor this natural cycle of slowing down. Do some gentle stretching and tune in to see how your body is feeling. Light a candle to honor the longest night of the year and sit for a few minutes in meditation.
Know that this year is coming to an end and take some time for self-care. Sleep a little more, drink more water, maybe book a massage, or visit a thermal bath. Do anything that helps you tune in to this cycle of the year. Whatever you do, shed the weight of what you are carrying and relax into hibernation.
Much love to you –
Jenn
